The Development and Political Economics Conference (DevPEC) is a student-led event that has taken place since 2015 with the support of the King Center on Global Development, Berkeley Center for Economics and Politics (BCEP), and the Berkeley Economy and Society Initiative (BESI). The conference brings together PhD candidates from different institutions working on topics related to development economics and political economy to present their work and receive feedback from other students as well as professors.
This year’s edition took place on April 18 and 19, 2024 on Stanford’s campus. Remote participation was also available. The planning committee was composed of Stanford students Kyra Frye and Pablo Guzmán Lizardo, and UC Berkeley students Eva Davoine and Silvia Farina.
