Seminar with Bo Li
On July 2, the Stanford King Center on Global Development hosted a seminar with Bo Li, the Director General of the Monetary Policy Department at The People’s Bank of China (PBoC).
About the Speaker:
Li joined the PBoC in 2004, working in the Legal and Regulation Department as Deputy Director General (appointed 2004) and Director General (promoted January 2009) before moving to the Monetary Policy Department II as Director General in November 2009. In 2015, Li was appointed Director General of Monetary Policy Department, where he is responsible for the central bank’s monetary policy operations.
Prior to joining the PBoC, Li was a practicing attorney with the New York law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell. Li holds a PhD degree in economics from Stanford University (1998) and a J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School (1999). He is a member of the Chinese and New York Bar. Li is also a member of China Finance 40 Forum (CF40), and a member of Chinese Economists 50 Forum (CE50). He has published a number of books and academic articles.
