SIEPR and the King Center hosted David Malpass, President of the World Bank Group, on September 28, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM PDT for an address. David Malpass discussed how, even if advanced countries stabilize, conditions for developing countries risk going from bad to worse. He also engaged in a Q&A session with the audience, moderated by Katherine Casey, Associate Professor of Political Economy at the GSB.

David Malpass, 13th President of the World Bank Group

David R. Malpass is the 13th President of the World Bank Group. He previously served as Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs for the United States. Mr. Malpass has represented the United States in international settings, including the G-7 and G-20 Deputy Finance Ministerial, World Bank–IMF Spring and Annual Meetings, and meetings of the Financial Stability Board, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation.
