Gender and Equity
Unequal access to basic health care, education, income generation opportunities, and political representation drives large gaps in well-being, making equity a critical goal for any society. Supporting women and other groups facing discrimination to secure basic needs and attain opportunities to improve their livelihoods is vital to fulfilling their human rights, improving well-being, and reducing poverty. The King Center supports experts working to understand and improve equity in low- and middle-income countries through a multiplicity of disciplinary approaches.
