How to Acknowledge King Center Support

As a condition of receiving funding, fellowship, or other support from the King Center on Global Development, you are required to acknowledge the support you received from the King Center in any dissertations, publications, interviews, media, social media, and other public contexts by identifying yourself as a King Center fellow/funding recipient. Please follow the guidelines below.

Acknowledgment Guidelines

1. Acknowledge the King Center’s support in all publications and outputs.

  • Credit King Center funding in any dissertations, publications, posters, and working papers, identifying yourself as a King Center fellow/funding recipient.
  • Sample credit lines: “This work was supported by funding from the Stanford King Center on Global Development.”; “This project was supported by the King Center on Global Development’s Graduate Student Research Funding.” “This work was partially funded by a Global Development Research Funding Award from the Stanford King Center on Global Development.”

2. Identify yourself as a King Center [fellow/visitor/funding recipient].

  • Mention your King Center affiliation where appropriate, for example: “I am a King Center Graduate Student Research Funding recipient; postdoctoral fellow; /predoctoral research fellow;/visiting scholar.”; “My research was supported by the King Center on Global Development.”
  • Add the King Center to your grants and awards listings where applicable.
  • List the King Center on your CV and on LinkedIn.

3. Credit the King Center on social media.

4. Include the King Center in all presentations, talks, and supporting media.

  • Use the King Center logo on posters, in slides, handouts, signage, video and other media.
  • In interviews (radio, TV, podcasts, press), acknowledge verbally, for example: “This project was completed with funding from the King Center on Global Development.”

5. Use the King Center name correctly.

  • Always use the full name on first reference: “the King Center on Global Development.”
  • Afterward, you may shorten to “the King Center.”
  • Do not shorten to “King” or other variants.
