A: The deadline for letters of recommendation to be uploaded is Friday, December 15, 2023 for applications to receive full consideration.

Q: What are the next steps in the selection process after the application is submitted?

A: The King Center will contact shortlisted candidates for online interviews, typically by mid February of the following year. 

Q: When will decisions be made?

A: The King Center will make offers by March of the following year. 

Fellowship Duration and Timing

Q: What is the duration of the Postdoctoral Fellows Program?

A: The King Center offers Postdoctoral Fellowships for a period between one and two years. 

Q: When do Postdoctoral Fellowships start?

A: Postdoctoral Fellowships typically start between July and September. 

Visas

Q: Does the King Center sponsor visas for Postdoctoral Fellows?

A: Yes. 

Q: Can I use my optional practical training (OPT) for this program if I will obtain a degree from a US institution?

A: Yes, students eligible for OPT are encouraged to use it for this program.

Q: What support does the King Center offer Postdoctoral Fellows for research?

A: The King Center provides an annual research budget for postdocs that can be used for research needs and conference travel. King Center Postdoctoral Fellows are also able to work with Stanford undergraduate part-time research assistants during the academic year and are eligible to apply for Global Development Research Funding
