Asha Sundaram is a senior lecturer at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Her research uses empirical estimation techniques founded in economic theory to study the impacts of globalization on firms and labor markets. Topics she researches include networks in international trade, trade and inequality and the role of institutions in development. Asha has published in top journals such as the Journal of International Economics, the Journal of Development Economics and the Journal of Urban Economics. She has an M.Phil in Economics from the University of Oxford and a PhD in Economics from the Maxwell School, Syracuse University. She has consulted for organizations such as the World Bank and the Peterson Institute of International Economics.
