Carlos Paramo

Carlos Paramo is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the King Center on Global Development. Prior to joining Stanford, he earned a PhD in Economics at the University of California, Berkeley in 2025.

His research interests are in development economics, industrial organization, and healthcare economics. He is particularly interested in research questions that inform appropriate health policy design. In his job market paper, Paramo studied the role of medical providers on the effectiveness of policies that aim to increase the adoption of health technologies in Kenya. In July 2026, Paramo will join Boston University as an Assistant Professor of Economics.
