Cécile Pomarède

Cécile Pomarède is a Predoctoral Research Fellow at the King Center on Global Development, where she works on the Conflict and Polarization initiative under the supervision of Professor Saumitra Jha. She holds an MSc in Political Science and Political Economy from the London School of Economics and a BA in Politics, International Relations, and Quantitative Methods from the University of Warwick.

Guided by a commitment to evidence-based decision-making and influenced by the principles of Effective Altruism, Pomarède has conducted research across India and the Pacific region, focusing on how data can inform policies that reduce suffering and improve well-being. Raised between New Caledonia, France, and the United States, she brings a global, multidisciplinary perspective to her work, with a particular interest in how political and economic structures adapt in response to environmental challenges and sociopolitical unrest.
