Diego Tocre was a Predoctoral Research Fellow at the King Center on Global Development. He received a BA in economics from the Universidad del Pacífico, Peru in 2019. His research interests lie at the intersection between development economics and political economy. Specifically, he is interested in learning more about the role of political institutions in developing countries in the efficiency of public spending and economic centralization. At the King Center, he worked with Professor Saumitra Jha in projects related to the political economy of indigenous communities and their survival over time in Mexico.
