Khalid K. Osman is an Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University and the Principal Investigator for Osman Lab. He has a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. There, his research focused on the operationalization of equity in the provision of water infrastructure services, conceptualizing equity in decentralized water and sanitation systems, and stakeholder-community engagement in sustainable civil infrastructure systems for achieving environmental justice. In his recent research, he uses a socio-technical systems approach and mixed quantitative-qualitative tools to innovate the design and management of civil infrastructure systems through the lens of justice. Khalid is also a Bill and Melinda Gates Millennium Scholar and Ford Foundation Pre-Doctoral Fellow.
