Ami S. Bhatt is an Associate Professor of Medicine & Genetics at Stanford University. Dr. Bhatt has dedicated her research program to inspecting, characterizing and dissecting the microbe-human interface. In particular, her research focuses on immunocompromised hosts and global settings, where infectious and environmental exposures result in drastic health consequences. Bhatt's group identifies problems and questions that arise in the course of routine clinical care. The group applies modern genetic, molecular and computational techniques to answer these questions and better understand host-microbe interactions.

Dr. Bhatt received her MD and PhD at UCSF. She completed residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and was a fellow in Hematology/Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Following her residency, she carried out her post-doctoral studies at the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT.
