Avidit “Avi” Acharya is a professor of political science at Stanford. He is a formal political theorist and political economist whose work spans a diverse set of topics including bargaining theory, behavioral political economy, distributive politics, and long run development. Professor Acharya’s papers have been published in the leading journals of political science and economic theory, including the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, Econometrica, and Journal of Economic Theory. Before coming to Stanford, Professor Acharya taught in the political science and economics departments of the University of Rochester. He holds a PhD in political economy from Princeton University.
