Julien Clement is an assistant professor at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He studies organization design and its impact on collaboration within and across organizations. He is generally interested in understanding the link between formal organizational structure and informal social relationships.
Dr. Clement’s work has relied on a variety of analytical methods applied in contexts including the television game-show industry, professional video gaming, and mobile healthcare in Africa. Most recently, Julien has studied how the deployment of artificial intelligence inside organizations may affect collaboration and learning among their members. His work has been published in journals including Administrative Science Quarterly, Management Science, and Strategic Management Journal. He holds a PhD from INSEAD, an MS from CEMS International Management, and a BS in Business Administration from the University of Paris-Dauphine.
