As an evolutionary ecologist, Kelsey Lyberger's research focuses on the role of rapid evolution and species interactions in shaping how species adapt and respond to various types of environmental change, including extreme climate events and rising temperatures. Her research uses a combination of approaches spanning mathematical and statistical models to fieldwork and controlled lab experiments. She has primarily worked in two aquatic systems: mosquitoes and Daphnia.

In 2021, Dr. Lyberger received her PhD in Population Biology from the University of California, Davis where she was advised by Sebastian Schreiber and Thomas Schoener.
